Tiffany Inspired Dinner Party- Part 1

Tonight I went through some of my crystal to see what I could use for my 'Tiffany Inspired dinner table'. Actually, I am so far very pleased with my results and I still have many more crystal pieces for white flowers on the night. So what I have done is laid a white table cloth (over the kitchen bench for purpose of photo) and used my beautiful blue wrapping paper that reminds me of the tiffany blue although it looks very washed out in the photo. I will use the paper for wrapping up boxes with big white bows, for the drinks table. On top of that is a glittery silver runner. I was thinking of finding something similar for placemats...not sure yet. The plates are very beautiful, with little white dots along the rim and a matching desert plate on top.

All the crystal on the table is from the 1950's, most of it was given to my parents on their wedding day. In real life they are beautiful to not only to look at but to use. As you can see from the real Tiffany bag, it is going to be difficult to get the exact colour blue. Nothing really comes close so when I chose the tablecloth, it may have to be a compromise and just settle for a soft blue. All the vases on the table will hold white flowers...I have decided to stick to one colour as to give more effect ...although I always change my mind. Do you think I should just stick to all white flowers or introduce pinks and lilac colours?

We are having a 6 course meal, cooked by another friend of mine at my house. This is the only reason why I can focus on just the decoration! Also, I have to mention that the photos do not do the setting any justice of how pretty it all looked on the kitchen bench. So when I finally do have the party, I will ask my friend to take pictures with their 'profeesional like' camera.
So what do you think so far? I am open for any suggestions and this is just one of the tables, the table for the adults. I still have the kids and drinks table to decorate. This is so much fun because I am using everything I already have.

OMG even without the flowers it looks fabulous.... that crystal is lovely. I can totally see it coming together no problems...

It looks fabulous. I would do just white flowers. With white, blue, silver and all that sparkle it will be perfect:)

Hi there, it all looks absolutely gorgeous. Re flowers, maybe some soft pink roses added? The white would look gorgeous though on their own. Can't wait to see the next post about this! Mx

All so gorgeous Mrs B, just a thought but you could go to Man Myer(bunnings) and get the Tiffany bag colour matched in a little sample pot of paint and dip some little jars for another addition of your blues somewhere. Yes I think your right keeping only white flowers and the idea of this is just fabulous. I love it all and cant wait to see the end results.

I love what you've put together for your Tiffany-inspired table so far :-) It's very glam and sparkly and elegant - and it's great that you're using pieces that you already have :-)

As much as I love colourful bouquets, I think you should stick with white flowers. But you could do a combination of different white flowers for texture and interest. You could also mix in sticks of crystals and clear beads to add some sparkle.

I was also going to suggest having your Tiffany bag colour-matched to a paint and then using the paint to add more Tiffany blue to the table. Hmmmm... what about painting a large piece of paper or cardstock Tiffany blue, and then layering a sheer fabric on top as your tablecloth?

Have fun creating your glamourous table setting!

Loving your table setting! You're so lucky to have all those beautiful pieces! I've just inherited a silver tea set and some crystal punch glasses. I love having a story behind my decorating :-)

I love all of your ideas! The horse bed frame is my favorite part. I see great ideas like this but when I go to look at modern furniture in NYC of decorations for the home my mind turns blank and I don't know what would look good or not. I wish I was more like you.
