These native grasses look fantastic on mass and also work well with contrasting grasses, in the garden in this photo i actually used dutch iris, which sounds like a strange choice but in the garden it works beautifully. Good luck with your garden.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08937478151159734665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2239112229660168491.post-27669254604194224792009-03-27T21:02:00.000-07:002009-03-27T21:02:00.000-07:00I am sure the garden will be superb, but you must ...I am sure the garden will be superb, but you must be patient, it may take two years to be established. I have a modern house to and am a landscape architect. In my opinion, less is more with the modern house. Rather than design with a little this and a little that -- think in masses. Masses of vertical color versus horizontal and so forth. Work in a space for a featured something -- whether it be art or planter or fountain.

And/or you can also go in the opposite direction where your landscape is becomes a setting for the "art" in the garden which is your house!

Good luck and be sure to show some photographs of it when it is completed! Best wishes!Pam Kerstinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10180448328445549120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2239112229660168491.post-81378071917467722872009-03-27T09:37:00.000-07:002009-03-27T09:37:00.000-07:00I'm clueless when it comes to gardening too. I tend to see a plant that I like, buy it, and then wonder where the heck I'm going to put it!!

I also have this thing about having to buy every purple flower I see!!

The money you spend on the landscaper will definitely be worth it. Looks like he's picked out some great plants for you :-) I love ornamental grasses :-)

KellyDesignTieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02561438683476880640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2239112229660168491.post-72325524662904555982009-03-27T04:41:00.000-07:002009-03-27T04:41:00.000-07:00I bet the hour with the landscape designer will be...I bet the hour with the landscape designer will be repaid tenfold.
